Mission Statement: To collect names of all Pre-Civil War Compton's and allied families in an attempt to connect them into a comprehensive family tree.

The picture gets more complicated now that DNA data is starting to trickle in. We need more participants in the Compton DNA Project

The Compton DNA Project is requesting your help - A second Aquilla Compton descendant needs to test to verify that Aquilla (b 1724) is not descended from John Compton of MD (b. 1638 m. abt. 1666 to Mary Rebecca Clarke). Some published genealogies have these two families lined erroneously. A second DNA candidate with strong documentation to Aquilla is needed to validate the findings. --Dan Compton ftDNA Compton Surname Reconstruction
