MARY HARRIS, daughter of Abram HARRIS and Esther DENMAN
was born 14 Sept 1810 in Greene County, PA. She emigrated to Knox
County, Ohio with her parents where she married 26 Sept 1829
Enoch PAINTER of Licking County, Ohio. They had four
children. Mr. and Mrs. Painter removed with their family to
Andrew County, Missouri in 1850 where Mary died in 1851.
Enoch Painter was born in 1809 in Pennsylvania and is
believed to have died on the Oregon or Forty-niner trail in
1852.

SAMUEL HARRIS PAINTER, son of Enoch PAINTER and Mary HARRIS
was born 17 June 1830 in Licking County, Ohio. He married 1
June 1851 Jane KINCAID by whom he had one child. They removed
to California and lived in Janesville, Lassen County.

BENJAMIN BELL PAINTER, son of Enoch PAINTER and Mary HARRIS
was born 3 Mar 1834 in Washington Township, Licking County,
Ohio.  He married 24 June 1863 Melvina WALKER BORRETTE in
Honey Lake Valley, Plumas County, CA. She was born 21 Feb
1846 and died 5 Oct 1892 in Cheney, Spokane County, WA.
She was the adopted daughter of Valentine John BORRETTE and
Amelia Watts BRIDGES. Her maiden name was probably WALKER.
They had eight children. Benjamin crossed the plains from
Andrew County, Missouri in 1852 and settled in California.
In 1871 the family moved from Honey Lake Valley to Elko
County, Nevada, and then to the Rosalia Farmlands, just south
of Cheney, Washington.

ABRAM A. PAINTER, son of Enoch PAINTER and Mary HARRIS was
born 14 Aug 1836 in Licking County, Ohio. He went to Missouri
with his parents when young and from there went to
California. He went with his brother Benjamin and fifty-five
others out on an Indian scout from Honey Lake Valley, Lassen
County (formerly part of Plumas County), California.  On the
third day they were attacked by 500 or more Indians. The
battle lasted for five hours and Abram A. Painter was
mortally wounded in the battle and died 23 June 1860 in
Nevada Territory. He was unmarried.
 

MARY ISABELL PAINTER, daughter of Samuel H. PAINTER and Jane
KINCAID was born 14 Aug 1852 and married Jeremiah (Jerry)
BOND 24 Oct 1869 of Lassen County, California. They had four
sons and one daughter, names not known.
 

VALENTINE LAFAYETTE PAINTER, son of Benjamin B. PAINTER and
Melvina W. BORRETTE was born 8 May 1883 15 miles south of
Cheney, Washington. He married in Oct 1908 Frances Kathryn
WHALEN. She was born 15 June 1888 in Rosalia, Whitman County,
Washington daughter of Charles Patrick WHALEN and Winifred
LEVEQUE. Frances died 25 May 1946 and Valentine died 18 Jan
1969. Both are buried in the Calvary Cemetery in Seattle,
Washington. They had five children.

VINETA MARY PAINTER, daughter of Valentine L. PAINTER and
Frances K. WHALEN was born 13 Oct 1910 in Naches, Washington.
She married 28 Nov 1935 Carl Vincent BOND in Yakima,
Washington. He was born 16 Mar 1912 in Seattle, Washingtonson
of William Elmer BOND and Florence Edna BURT.
They had four children.

ABRAM HARRIS JR., son of Abram HARRIS and Esther DENMAM was
born 27 Jan 1819 in Greene County, PA. He emigrated with his
parents to Licking County, Ohio in the fall of 1827. He
married Lydia DOUGLASS a native of New Jersey 27 Feb 1839 by
whom he had four children. They lived near Utica, Ohio where
he was a farmer and a fruit dealer. Abram died in 1892 and
Lydia died in 1888. Both are buried in the Eden Cemetery,
Eden Township, Licking County, Ohio.

WILLIAM H.D. HARRIS, son of Abram HARRIS Jr., and Lydia
DOUGLASS was born 29 Apr 1841 in Licking County, Ohio. He
married 26 Feb 1862 Malissa DUFFIELD of Licking County.  They
had seven children all born in Illinois except the eldest
George E. being born in Licking County, Ohio. In March, 1865
they removed to Illinois, near Montrose, Effingham County,
where Mr. Harris was a farmer and a stock dealer.

ESTHER M.M.E. HARRIS, son of Abram HARRIS Jr., and Lydia
DOUGLASS was born 8 Feb 1848 in Licking County, Ohio. She
married 28 July 1867 George McPEEK, of Guernsey County, Ohio.
They had three children. Mr. and Mrs. McPeek moved to Knox
County, Ohio, in 1868 and in 1885, lived near St.
Louisville, Ohio.

GEORGE W.P. HARRIS, son of Abram HARRIS Jr., and Lydia
DOUGLASS was born 26 Nov 1852 in Licking County, Ohio. He
married 1 Apr 1876 Hermia HARRIS daughter of James M.R.
HARRIS and Sarah M. THRAPP. They had two children. They were
farmers and lived in Knox County, Ohio.

PHEBE R.C. HARRIS, daughter of Abram HARRIS Jr., and Lydia
DOUGLASS was born 2 Dec 1855 in Licking County, Ohio. She
married 28 Aug 1876 Harrison BELL of Knox County, Ohio.  Mr.
and Mrs. Bell lived near Martinsburgh, Knox County, Ohio
where they were farmers and stock dealers. They had two
children.

PHEBE HARRIS, daughter of Thomas HARRIS and Phebe HARRISON
was born in New Jersey 26 Jan 1778. She went with her parents
to Pennsylvania in 1787 and married a man by the name of
DEAN in 1797. They emigrated to one of the Southwestern
states where it is supposed she died. No trace can be found
of any of her descendants.
