                          Herbert F. Boyd

Wilmington--Herbert F. Boyd, 67, of Wilmington
died Saturday evening at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington after a long illness.

Born in Wilmington on Aug 31, 1923, he was the son of Milo Edwin and Helen (Pratt) Boyd.

He attended Wilmington schools and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946.  He was awarded several medals and citations for his service.

Mr. Boyd had worked for Lincoln Haynes as a carpenter for many years.  He also worked at the former New England Box Company in Wilmington.

He was a member of the Nelson E. Pickwell Post No. 15 in Wilmington.

He leaves two brothers, Ernest "John" Boyd
and Elliott "Pickle" Boyd, both of Wilmington; a sister Charlotte Boyd Fraser of Wilmington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A brother
Urban Boyd died several years ago.
