Brattleboro Reformer June 5, 1993 Phillip C. Boyd Brattleboro--Phillip C. Boyd, 55, of Sunset Lake Road, died Friday morning at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Mr. Boyd was born in Wilmington Dec 8, 1937, the son of Horace Newall Boyd and Marilla (Vose) Boyd. He was raised by his foster parents, Ed and Hazel Johnson. He attended Brattleboro schools and later the Vermont Agricultural School in Randolph, Vermont. A resident of Brattleboro most of his life, Mr Boyd was employed as a lineman at Central Vermont Public Service for 34 years. He was a past master of Lodge 102 F&AM, Golden Rule Lodge 32 F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Cairo Shrine Temple, Brattleboro Shrine Club, chairman of the Roger Chapman Scholarship Fund, and a member of Bingham Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and First Congregational Church. On September 5, 1979 he married Joanne Smith, who survives. Also surving are two sons, Steven Boyd and Eric Boyd of Hinsdale, New Hampshire; a brother Roy Boyd of Dover, New Jersey; four sisters, Sylvia Vascik of Chesterfield, NH, Earlene Carey of Dover, VT, Virginia Kiley of Warwick, Rhode Island, and Barbara Boyd of Texas. Burial will be in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery. |
