Currently I'm researching my Coon/Winters family from Louisiana. My great-grandfather, William Hicks Coon, was born in Venice, LA in 1897 and was adopted by Ferdinand Lloyd Winters and Mary O'Brien in 1906 in New Orleans, LA. His parents both died between 1900-1906 in Louisiana. William's father was Samuel Ezra Coon and his grandfather was Alonzo Edward Coon.
