34th Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry-Civil War Research
TO OUR CIVIL WAR PAGES
Although, I do not have any evidence of any of my direct ancestors having served in the Civil War, I do have some very distant "cousins" that did serve. This site is dedicated to them and to the men who served in the Thirty-fourth Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry.
I am not a Civil War historian or expert, so exactly what these pages will entail I have not decided yet. I hope to have an index of the men in the Regiment, a few bios, and a short historical sketch.
DISCLAIMER:
All information shown here, is for research only, I do not have any of the actual records, you will have to obtain them if you want them.
The source of some of the information is from "Roster and Record of Iowa Troops in the Rebellion, Vol 5" by Guy E. Logan.
And an unpublished book by a distant cousin of mine. She did a family history and although these men are not directly linked to me, I want to include their service here.

Feb. 1, 2002: For those who are researching other Civil War soldiers from Iowa visit my Historical Books site. I am in the process of putting on line a Portraits and Biographies Album-Washington County, Iowa-pub. 1887; this book has biographies of prominent citizens of Washington County, and there is some great histories of their service during the Civl War. djc
