Arms: "écartelés de Velasco. Au premier et troisième d'or, à l'aigle de sable, fondant sur un buisson de sinople, au chef deux croix de gueules ancrées, qui est d'Aubuisson; au deuxième et quatrième de huit points d'or équipolés à sept de vair, bordure componée de Léon et de Castile, qui est de Velasco. Le tout surmonté d'une couronne ducale, avec la légende de Ricos-Hombres; deux lions pour supports."

The Nobiliaire states that the family was of ancient and noble extraction, established in the Languedoc area of France where they held the for several centuries the lordships of Nailhoux and Ramon-Saint-Aigne.

Antoine d'Aubuisson, knight, wrote a will 2 January 1445, married Marie de Poitiers, daughter of Guillaume de Poitiers, Lord of Nailhoux, and Louise de Chateau-Verdun, and had issue:

1. Guillaume d'Aubuisson, knight, wrote his will at Nailhoux 5 October 1516, married 1485 Mathilde-Charlotte d'Escandillac, daughter of Simeon d'Escandillac and Catherine de Tournemire.
