Boniface I, came with Charlemagne to Italy and was made Count and Duke of Lucca (including the territories of Pisa, Volterra, Pistoia and Luni). He died about 5 October 823 and had issue:

1. Bereharius, known to have fought the Muslims 828.
2. Boniface II, Count and Duke of Lucca, known 823, died after 838.
2.1. Berardus, Count of Lucca, died after or about 888.
2.2. Adalbertus I, known 844-889, Count and Duke of Lucca, Margrave of Toscana (including the territories of FLorence and Fiesole), died after 27 May 884. He married 1stly Anonsuara, and 2ndly before 863 Rothilde de Spoleto, died after 27 May 884, daughter of Guido I, Duke of Spoleto.
2.2.1. *by 2* Adalbert II "The Rich", Count & Duke of Lucca, Margrave of Toscana, died about 10 September 915, buried Lucca Cathedral, married between 890 and 898 Bertha von Lothringen (died 8 March 925, buried Lucca Cathedral), daughter of Lothar II, King of Lorraine (Carolingian).
2.2.1.1. Wido, Count & Duke of Lucca, Margrave of Toscana, died about 928/9, married 924/5 Marozzia "senatrix et patricia Romanorum", daughter od Theophylact.
2.2.1.1.1. Theodora.
2.2.1.1.2. Lambert, Count & Duke of Lucca, Margrave of Toscana, died after 958.
2.2.1.1.3. Ermengard, died about 29 February 932, married Adalbert, Margrave of Ivrea (died 923).
2.2.2. Boniface, Count, died after 894.
2.2.3. Reginsinda, a nun at St:a Giulia of Brescia.
3. Richilda, died after 5 October 823, abbess of St. Benedetto & Scholastica at Lucca.
