This family, like the other of the same name, originated in Norway, though there appears to be no discernible connection between the two. This line commences with Hr. Jon Ragnvaldsson, known 1295, died before 1328. He had issue as follows:

1. Ragnvald Jonsson.
1.1. Otte Ragnvaldsson, known 1340-1381, councillor of the realm of Norway.
1.2. Jon Ragnvaldsson, died 1350 from the plague.
1.3. Haakon Ragnvaldsson, married Margarethe Vilhjalmsdotter.
1.3.1. Cecilia, known 1386, married Svale Ottesson Rømer.
1.4. Elin, married Munein Torleifson (Stumpe).
2. Hr. Hallvard Jonsson, known 1347, died after 1391.
2.1. Jon Hallvardsson, known 1375.
2.1.1. Hr. Svale Jonsson, known 1397-1442, councillor of the realm of Norway, married Sigrid Gunnarsdotter Kane (died after 1412).
2.1.1.1. Hr. Jon Smør, known 1451, drowned 1483 by Jersøen, buried St. Laurenti church, Tønsberg.
2.1.1.2. Botilde, married Hr. Peder Karlsson, councillor of the realm of Norway.
2.1.1.3. Inga, married Guttorm Eyvindsson til Hananger, councillor of the realm of Norway.
2.1.1.4. *by a concubine* Inga, married Sigurd N. N.
2.1.2. Gaute Jonsson til Sæim, known 1453.
2.1.3. Ulvilde, married N. N. (mother of Ingeborg, wife of Trond Benkestok).
3. Thorgaut Jonsson, known 1369-1370, councillor of the realm of Norway.
3.1. Claus Thorgetsson, known 1398, councillor of the realm of Norway.
3.2. Eilif Thorgautsson, known 1392-1399, councillor of the realm of Norway.
