SOME NOTABLES OF TODAY

                       

TROY CORSER    Ask any search engine to look for Corser and you will find a plethora of sites dealing with Troy Corser. The Australian motorbike star raced for the Ducati team, and was World Superbike Champion in 1996. He then switched to Aprilia, missed out on the top spot in 1999 through injury, was third in 2000 and fourth in 2002. He then had an unproductive spell with Foggy PETRONAS Racing in 2003/4, after which he signed up with Suzuki. Troy won the World Superbike Championship for 2005 on a Suzuki, having won 8 races. Troy's official web site gives autobiographical  details, photos and  news of his progress.

Troy retired from competitive racing at the end of the 2011 season.

KIRA CARRILLO CORSER    California-based Kira Carrillo Corser has achieved prominence as an award-winning photographer and writer. Her photographic work has been exhibited widely throughout the USA, and she has produced three books. There are two web sites which deal with her work, and show some of her photographs.

RODGER CORSER     Australian-born actor/singer Rodger Corser has made his name in the pop music business, and has sung and played with  several groups including the cover band Hype. He has also appeared in the musical stage production "Rent" in Australia, and the TV series "Water Rats" and "McLeod's Daughters". He is currently (2008) in the TV series "Underbelly". There is a site which gives a potted career brief  and other sites show  photos of Rodger, and describe his character in "Water Rats".

TREVOR CORSER    Trevor Corser was born in Lancashire. He learned the craft of pottery at the Bernard Leach Pottery in St Ives, Cornwall, where he is now one of  the leading potters. There is a site with photo, which also shows some of his work.

BARBARA CORSER   American-born Barbara Corser was Penthouse Pet of the Month in August 1977.  She was also Playmate of the Month in the German edition of Playboy for July 1975. There are web sites where these issues can be purchased by those looking for an alternative view of family history.
 

MALCOLM R CAUSER       Malcolm Causer was born in Brazil in the early 1920s. He joined the Royal Navy early in WW2, and  volunteered for duty with the Human Torpedoes (also known as Chariots). As an Able Seaman he took part in the abortive raid against the Tirpitz in Trondhjemsfjord, in 1942, walking over the mountains to Sweden and repatriation to England. In 1944, as a Sub-Lieutenant RNVR, he successfully attacked an Italian navy vessel in the port of La Spezia, but was made PoW after evading capture for several weeks. For this attack he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. The story of his exploits is told in the book "Above Us The Waves". His career is outlined on the RNVR Officers web site.
