Sponsored by the Halls Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Halls Creek Fish Fry gets underway about 4 o'clock and is held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend each year. The event is actually located on Clydeton Road out by the Mason's Boat Dock at the mouth of Big Richland Creek on Kentucky Lake of the Tennessee River. While attending the event, I, Ben Couch, had the opportunity to meet Bruce Latimer, Catherine Carter, and Bill and Inez Danley, all cousins of my wife, Holly. Other relatives attending were E.C. and Jo Hall, Bill and Janet Hall and their kids, and Larry and Garry Baker.

The view in the above photograph looks across this inlet to a point where Little Richland Creek enters. Across the waterway and around the bend is the location of the Union Chapel Cemetery where there was a church before the river was damned in the 1940's. Several of Holly's kinfolk are buried there. Some of the other remains were relocated at the time.
