Lt. Richard M. Saffell (26th TN Infantry (CSA)) (Lt. Richard M Saffell, a Knox Co farmer originally from Louisville, TN spent most of the 1850s clerking with merchants in Atlanta. He was killed leading the 26th TN Infantry (CSA) at the Battle of Bentonville, the last victory of the Army of Tennessee.  His body was never recovered.  He was a ggrandson of Henry Cox and brother of Lt.
