Caroline Helwick Myers Brown


b. 04 Oct 1847, Lycoming Co., PA; d. 09 Apr 1924, 76 years 6 months 5 days, Kalona, Washington Co., IA; bur. Indianola; mar.1) 31 Dec 1863, Washington Co., IA, James J. Myers (d. 1907, bur. Indianola); mar.2) 14 May 1914, Morgan D. Brown (d.1920). CHILD: 01 Ulysses G. Myers, b. Jan 1866, Iowa; mar. Mary -?- abt 1893.



     Caroline M. BROWN was born in Pennsylvania October 4, 1847, and died at her home in Kalona, April 9, 1924, aged 76 years, 6 months, 5 days. In 1863 she was united in marriage with J.J. Myers, who died 17 years ago. May 14, 1914 she was united in marriage to. M.D. BROWN who died in 1920.
     Mrs. Brown was a member of a family of 13 children, two of whom remain. They are: Mrs. Hannah DURST of Washington, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary BROWN of Kansas City, Missouri.
     The deceased had been in poor health for some time and has been failing for some time, so that her death was not unexpected to her friends and neighbors.
     Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Kalona, conducted by Rev. H.H. Fletcher, after which her remains were taken to Indianola for interment by the side of her first husband.
