Samuel Enoch Hendry, son of James Madison Hendry and Mary Jane Payne, was born June 10, 1869, Fort Green, Manatee County (now Hardee County), Florida; died March 29, 1923 while on a visit to the New Zion community, Ona, Hardee County, Florida, with burial in New Zion Cemetery. On November 10, 1898, he married Anna Burch Walton, daughter of Thomas Henry Walton nd Louisa M. Price. Anna was born 1871 and died January 11, 1938, Charleston, South Carolina. They lived at 253 Rutledge Ave., Charleston. Samuel E. Hendry was a teacher and served as a postmaster in Charleston, South Carolina.

1. Mary Louise Hendry, born Sept. 1, 1904; died Aug. 21, 1993, Columbia, Richland Co., SC; married on Dec. 17, 1925 Lucian Russell Rawls. Lucian was born Sept. 26, 1900 and died Sept. 17, 1968.
2. Anna Walton Hendry, born Sept. 11, 1907; died Jan. 1, 1994, Columbia, Richland Co., SC; married on July 5, 1945 Maurice Glen Powell. He was born Feb. 23, 1913; died Oct 1974, Columbia, SC.
