These 1900 report cards and letter were found by Derlys Fryar at an estate sale in Little Rock, AR in the summer of 2003. She states that if there is a member of the Pruden family who would like to have the original items, she would be happy to send them. We would appreciate knowing more about Harvey and Josie, and the Pruden family. The cards state they were in Alexander Public School and their teacher was A.L. Hutchins. The name was spelled Prudin and Pruden on the cards.
In searching the census, Derlys and I found the brother and sister, Harvey and Josie, along with other family members. It appears that neither one ever married. It is puzzling as to why Sarah claimed to be a widow in 1920 when I assume they were with their father, David J. in the 1930 census. Rachel is listed as his mother in 1860 and 1870. John is listed as his father in 1860. But... David J. is listed in the Alexander/Pruden Cemetery as died in 1912. It may be a typo and he died after 1930, maybe 1932. I will go to the cemetery and check his gravestone. At this time, we haven't found where Josephine and Harvey are buried. ================================================= 1930 PULASKI CO AR Hill Twp NLR 114 90/127 L:90 ED:60 Apr 5 In household of: Carl M (42) & Helen H (29) Mason Pruden Josephine Roomer fw 45 s AR NC AR There were 2 other Pruden's rooming there, which I assume may be her father and another brother.
