The Seminole Cudjos
by Hanna Anderson
The Seminole Cudjos (and Creek
Cudjos) are descendants of King Cudjo, a Black
Seminole who worked as a guide and interpreter for the
American government during the Second Seminole War. The
Black Seminoles were part of the Seminole tribe that had formed in
Florida but later was forced to remove to
Oklahoma.
