Marc was educated in Fort Smith. He joined the Armed Forces in 1981 after graduating. He served for seven years in Cornwalis, Nova Scotia, and Edmonton, Alberta. The majority of the time in Edmonton at the Namao Base.
Marc was awarded the top apprentice in his trade for three years in a row and was awarded the trophy for the top apprentice in all trades for the NWT in November 1991. He is now an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer working for Northwestern Air Lease in Fort Smith.
