Ruluff FISHER or Ruliff FISHER ^lfs was born in Holland in 1724; came to this country before the American Revolution; married Mary ?.  They first lived in Freehold, Monmouth Co., NJ. ^mc  They moved to Luzerne Co., PA bet. 1785 - 1790. ^lfs  They settled on the Middle Road in Hanover; Ruluff died in 1809, aged 85.  His wife was born in 1725 and died in 1830, aged 105.  They are both buried in Hanover Cemetery.  They had:

Jacob FISHER ² (Ruluff ¹) was born in America in 1771; married Hannah ADAMS; lived on the Middle Road in Hanover, near the DOWNING's; died in 1852.  The FISHER family, along with the INMAN and SMILEY families, relocated to Rock County, Wisconsin sometime in the 1840s. ^js  Jacob & Hannah had:

June 19, 1901, Washington D.C., daughter of John SLEPPY or John SCHLEPPY and Sarah SORBER or Sally SORBER, both of PA. ^lfs  In 1855, Elijah and Elizabeth were living in Newark, Rock County, Wisconsin and landowners of 100 acres there.  In 1869, they were living in Cortland, Spotsylvania Co., VA, where Elijah bought the Sanford Inn in 1869, and changed the name to Fisher Hotel.  [See Spotsylvania Preservation Foundation website - Robert E. Lee had many meetings there during the Civil War.]  Elijah's other occupations besides inn keeper were carpenter and farmer.   By 1880, the family had moved to Washington D.C. ^lfs  In 1900, Elizabeth FISHER was living with her son John S. Henry FISHER ³ or Harry FISHER ^js (Jacob, ² Ruluff ¹) was born in Hanover in 1803; married Mary SMILEY; resided in Wilkes-Barre; owned the hotel at South Wilkes-Barre, built about 1848; died with his son on the North Branch Canal, where he had a contract, in 1851.  It is believed they were robbed and murdered, and the house burned with them in it.  After the deaths of Henry and Abraham, the family relocated to Rock Co., WI to join the mother and brothers about 1851. ^js  Harry and Mary's children, among others, were:
