Abraham SORBER, of German descent, came to Hanover from Northampton County about 1783;
brought a family of grown-up children; lived on the Middle Road; owned [before 1885, what was known as] the BOBB place; sold to BOBB; died in Hanover. They had:
John SORBER 2 (Abraham 1) was born in Northampton County; came to Hanover with his father [about 1783]; married Betsey SLEPPY; removed to Butler Township. They had:
George SORBER 2 (Abraham 1) was born in Northampton County; came to Hanover with his father in 1783; always lived in Hanover; married Elizabeth EHRA. They had:
Polly SORBER 3 (George, 2 Abraham 1) was born in Hanover in 1801, and died in 1880; she married John DUFFY. They had:
John DUFFY, b. abt. 1840 jhs
Catherine DUFFY, b. abt. 1841 jhs
John SORBER 3 (George, 2 Abraham 1) was born in Hanover in 1803; has always lived here; lives [before 1885] on the Middle Road near where he was born; married Rose Ann RINEHIMER. They had:
Adam SORBER 3 (George, 2 Abraham 1) was born in Hanover [in 1807]; married Sally Ann HAWK; lived in Union Township. They had:
George SORBER 3 (George, 2 Abraham 1) was born in Hanover; lives [before 1885] in Hanover; married Caroline STAIR. They had:
Isaac SORBER 3 (George, 2 Abraham 1) was born in Hanover; lives [before 1885] in Nanticoke; married Catharine HAWK.
