These three delightful postcards were contributed by Mary Sutton of Mount Holly, New Jersey, USA (April 2005) - here are Mary's accompanying comments ;-
"Several weeks ago, I came across several postcards that were in my Grandmother's old suitcase, (these are now on this website - see also Pontardawe 14), all were in an envelope with " Pontardawe" written on the front.
It appears that between 1891 through 1956/57, I have had family living in Pontardawe, starting with the family of Meshach Rees and his wife, Hannah Davies (see below). Hannah Davies and my great-grandmother, Ann Isaac (nee Davies) were sisters. Ann was residing in Miners Mills, PA in 1891. It is amazing, but there were still relatives of the Rees/Davies family living in Pontardawe about 1956/1957.
My family, including my Grandmother, Esther Ann Lewis (nee Isaac), visited Pontardawe in 1956 or 1957. My Grandmother was living in Wilkes-Barre, PA at the time of her visit. I remember visiting a tall, thin lady with white hair; named Mary Ann. Mary Ann and my Grandmother were related, but their relationship has remained a mystery."

Meshach Richard Rees (the son in the above entry) was born July 2, 1888 and went to Miner Mills in 1900 and was living with Mary's great grandmother in 1910. He married Ann Evans and they had a daughter named Margaret born c 1913 - two of these cards are to that Margaret - implying that they were sent in the early 1920s.
