David D. Wagener was a merchant, but in early life
turned his attention to politics, and became a leader in
the party to which he belonged. He served as a member
from Northampton in the State Legislature during
the administration of Governor Wolf. He occupied
a seat in Congress for four successive terms, from
1832 to 1840. On retiring from political life he was
elected President of the Easton Bank, an office which
he filled with acceptance to the community until the
period of his death, which took place on the first day
of October, 1860.
His wife died February 13, 1833.

Jacob Beyer, son of Jacob Beyer (page 65), married
Magdalena Boorse in 1822. Children:
Samuel, born February 13, 1823.
John, born April 8, 1824.
Jesse, born September 13, 1825.
Adam, born August 24, 1827.
Elizabeth, born October 31, 1828.
Daniel, born June 27, 1830.
Albert, born January 8, 1832. Died January 5,
 1851.
Jacob, born June 21, 1834.
Benjamin, born March 4, 1836. Died April 23,
 1849.
James, born October 29, 1838.
Franklin, born June 28, 1840. Died April 16,
 1852.
Charles, born April 30, 1842. Died January 19,
 1848.
Sarah, born April 13, 1844.
Magdalena, wife of J. B., died March 30, 1848.
Jacob Beyer married, second time, Elizabeth Oberholtzer
in 1855. No issue.
