Genealogical Record of the Schwenkfelders quincy

Quincy Fretz appears on page 393 of A Brief History of John and Christian Fretz: and a complete genealogical register with biographies of their descendants from the earliest available records to the present time. With portraits and other illustrations. by Rev. A. J. Fretz of Milton, N.J. with an introduction by J. Freeman Hendricks, A. M. (Elkhart, Ind.: Mennonite Publishing Co., 1890).
The entry reads:

V. Quincy A. Fretz, born July 18, 1847. He lived with his parents until a few years after his marriage, after which he lived in Hilltown one year, and at Souderton four years, engaged in manufacturing force pumps. In 1879 he returned to the farm where he now lives, and which, as a portion of the Old Homestead, he purchased after his father's death. He was mrd. Oct. 10, 1873, to Catharine Yeakel, of Hilltown. She is a descendant of the Schwenkfelders, and was born May 27, 1847. Members of the 2d Mennonite ch., at Deep Run. One child: (VI.) Alice Y. Fretz; died an infant.

Quincy was the second son of four and the second child of six of Joseph Fretz and his wife Catharine Rickert. Joseph was a farmer who was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on 11 December 1803 and died 4 December 1880. He lived on, and owned at one time part of the family homestead in Bedminster Township. After his death the homestead was brought in 1881 by his sons Quincy and Anthony R. (born 19 February 1856, married Ella Barron). They both occuppied the farm.

Joseph was the only son and second child (of three) of Joseph Fretz and his second wife Elizabeth Kratz. Joseph, the father, was born circa 1772 and died October 1843. He was married four times and had children by the first three of his wives. Joseph, his son, had three older half-brothers and four younger half-sisters. Joseph Sr., was the second and youngest son and the fourth child (of seven) of Abraham Fretz (son of Christian) and Dorothea Kulp (the daughter of Dielman Kolb). Abraham purchased the family homestead in Bedminister Township, Pennsylvania from Governors Richard and Thomas Penn in 1758.

Elizabeth Kratz was the daughter of Abraham Kratz (born 1741, died 1817) and of Barbara Moyer, the daughter of the younger Christian Moyer. They lived in New Britain Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Abraham was the son of John Valentine Kratz and Anna Clemens (died 12 February 1793) daughter of Gerhard Clemens and Anneli Reif.
