HMS/M ALCIDE 1947
HMS SPARTAN 1943
This page has 728 rare photographs on it, in alphabetical order, showing
a great range of British naval shipping. The photos are not exactly high quality as I have
had to squeeze them all on 6mb. However I have several other web pages featuring my
selection of favourites from this vast collection..the owners of which I am indebted to.
All originals from currently trading photographic companies have been avoided as well as
those from collections commercially available. Many were reproduced from the original
glass plates late at night on my bathroom floor, or copied out of old sailor`s personal
albums. Any one with old plates or negatives is advised to make at least one good print
off it before any cleaning....or breaking!!..is attempted, then if the worst does happen,
you still have a good print. All vessels are HMS unless otherwise stated; no
duplicate images, dates when given are believed to be accurate.
