Letter in possession of Paul E. Dale 1998.

From: Esther Sprott 1006 East Chestnut, Dodge City, KS.
To: Elmer E. Dale. 24 July 1936
Dear Uncle Elmer and family:
We received your welcome letter and were certainly glad to get it yesterday.
Uncle Elmer, we took mama to the hospital yesterday morning and she seemed to be getting along alright. We were up late last nite but she was asleep and they wouldn't let us see her. We were called awfully early this morning that she was awfully low. We rushed right to the hospital but we didn't get there quick enough. Mama passed away at 5:00 this morning, she passed away very quietly as she was asleep when she went.

We got your letter in time to read it to her and she said, "my, I'm glad to hear from him, and I hope they are all well".
We moved to Dodge City last Thursday, 17 July. Mom went to bed that afternoon, she never got up. She had low blood pressure, enema,
stomach ulcer and a growth in her stomach.

Her blood pressure was back up to 80 and her blood was getting lots better until it got so awfully bad. After we moved up here she
couldn't keep anything on her stomach and yesterday morning before we took her to the hospital, the Dr. could hardly hear her heart with his instrument. When we left her last nite she seemed to be resting pretty well.

Well, Uncle Elmer, I can't rite any more now.
Answer soon.
Your niece, Esther.
