This copy of "The Bay Psalm Book" is part of a collection of ancient books located in the US Library of Congress in Washington DC.
One of 1700 copies produced by Stephen Daye in 1640 using a press located in Cambridge, it was the first book ever printed in North America. Robert Daniell owned a copy (will inventory) and he and other members of Thomas Shepard's congregation sang its words, praising God during services.
