DNA analyses DNA results for my 2nd cousin John Franklin Rogers FROM WEBSITE under I2b* haplogroup.

It is presumed that John Rogers(b. 1611, m. Nov. 22, 1640) and John Franklin Rogers have the same key DNA markers. His key Y-DNA markers should also be the same as mine.

The following commentary on this gene is given by Wikipedia:

I2b1-M223 (M223, P219/S24, P220/S119, P221/S120, P222/U250/S118, P223/S117) Occurs at a moderate frequency among populations of Northwest Europe, with a peak frequency in the region of Lower Saxony in central Germany; minor offshoots appear in Moldavia and Russia (especially around Vladimir, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, and the Republic of Moldovia)

Other Haplogroup subclades for Rogerses are listed here. The groups are
  • E1B1b (mostly in the W. Mediterranean)
  • G (mainly in the Caucasians)
  • I1a (centered in Scandinavia)
  • I1b2* (centered in Germany and England)
  • I2b (my group - found mostly in N. Germany)
  • J1 (came from the Middle East)
  • R1a (mostly in Poland, Russia and N. India)
  • R1b(the largest group in Great Britain)

A further detailed tree enumeration of haplogroups and subclades is given here.
