"1. Royal H. TUPPER was born about 1810.1 He died on 26 Nov 1881.2 Came from Rochester to Bethel in 1864, and located in Bethel village, residing in the house now owned by Mrs. William Wright. Although not a merchant in this place was actively engaged in buying and selling wool and hops in this section, and for serveral years was president of the White River National Bank. Royal H. TUPPER and Sarah FARRINGTON were married.3 Sarah FARRINGTON died on 22 Feb 1850 in Rochester, Windsor, Vermont.4 Royal H. TUPPER and Sarah FARRINGTON had the following children: +2 i.John R. TUPPER, born on 4 Dec 1841 2; married Susan RAYMOND5. 3 ii.Robert TUPPER was born on 26 Mar 1843.2 He died on 25 Aug 1855. 2 +4 iii.Sarah Frances TUPPER, born on 26 Nov 1848 2; married F. P. HOLDEN 6. Royal H. TUPPER and Martha ROGERS were married on 9 Jun 1851.2 Martha ROGERS was born. Royal H. TUPPER and Martha ROGERS had the following children: +5 i.George H. TUPPER, born on 4 Jun 1855, Rochester, Windsor, Vermont 7; married Nellie M. GRAHAM, on 25 Jan 1882 2,8.".

(1807-1881) and Susannah Barden Stevenson (1816-1897). Norman bought more land in Junius in 1852 from Susan and Philo Rich, who are probably descendants of or related to the Rich listed below.

This cemetery is in a disgraceful condition. It has been used as a pasture and stones have been knocked over, trampled on and defiled by cattle and horse droppings.

"Schuyler H. Buck, 66, president of the failed Bank of Otoe and once leading citizen of Otoe, Neb., was arrested here today on a charge of embezzling six hundred dollars from the Otoe school district, of which he was treasurer.
Former state senator, former mayor, and a trustee of the town's leading church, Buck was a member of the school board continuously for 33 years. He lived in Otoe for 40 years.

Buck's bank failed in 1931, and its affairs have been under investigation since. Buck left Otoe about a month ago, supposedly to make his home in Minneapolis. Sheriff Ryder said he had heard Buck was in Buffalo and Minneapolis, but expected that he would return to Omaha before Christmas. The charge was filed several days ago.
Buck came here to see his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul King, 5011 Webster street.

Buck is married and has five children, all grown.

"Nebraska City, March 2, (AP). -- A district court jury here today convicted Schuyler Buck, former president of the failed bank of Otoe, of embezzlement of $638.50 in Otoe school district funds while treasurer of the district. The jury recommended leniency.
Buck will have three days in which to seek a new trial and was released on $1,500 bond. He indicated he will appeal.
On the witness stand in his own defense yesterday, the former banker admitted appropriating the school funds to his own use but said he intended to restore them whenever the district needed the money. He said had not his bank failed shortly afterwards, the money would have been replaced. With failure of the bank his credit was destroyed, he said, and he was unable to raise the amount.".
