"(I) Simon Huntington, immigrant ancestor, was born in England, and sailed for New England, in 1633, with his wife and children, but was taken ill and died on the voyage, of smallpox. His widow (Margaret Barrett) Huntington, settled with her children first in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where she married (second), 1635-36, Thomas Stoughton, of Dorchester. They removed to Windsor, Connecticut, and settled there. Margaret was probably born in Norwich, England. Practically nothing is known of Simon Huntington---even his name was a mystery to the early genealogists of the family. Children: William, settled in Salisbury, in 1640; Thomas, settled in Connecticut; Christopher, settled in Norwich, one of the founders; Simon, mentioned below; Ann, mentioned in a letter written by Peter Barrett to his sister, Margaret (Barrett) Huntington.".
