He married FRANCES ALBRIGHT <albright.shtml> October 13, 1625 in Evesham, Worchestershire, England (Source: Constance Wells citing: All Saints Parish, Evesham, Worcester, ENG), daughter of RICHARD ALBRIGHT and UNKNOWN. From Volume CXLVI: January 1992, Whole Number 581, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register: The Widow Frances (Albright) Wells, wife of Thomas Coleman of Wethersfield and Hadley, by Douglas Richardson: "...will probated 1637 (Edward Alexander Fry, ed., Calendar of Wills and Administrations in the Consistory Court of the Bishop of Worcester, 1660-1642 [London, British Record Society, 1910],164. Original will filmed and available from LDS on FHL microfilem 98,054. Will dated 9 Feb. 1637, Thomas Welles referred to his wife, but not by name, and to his three minor children, Thomas, Mary and John. To his eldest son, Thomas, he bequeathed his house, after the death of his mother."
From Constance Wells, Family Group Sheet: Will dated 9 Feb 1636/7 or 1637/8? There was a Thomas Wells buried in the parish of All Saints on 13 Feb 1636/7. Father mentioned in will, but no name given. (Brothers of Frances Albright listed in will (lived in town 10 miles east of Evesham--Alderminster, Warwickshire.) Parishes of All Saints and St. Lawrence have churches that are immediately adjacent to each other in the center of the town of Evesham.
Thomas's will implies that he was a weaver.

2nd Generation. MARY WELLES, b. about July 15, 1630, St. Lawrence Parish, Evesham, England (*) d. July 3, 1700, Hartford, CT (Source: Volume CXLVI: January 1992, Whole Number 581, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register); Mary is mentioned in her father's will. Married ca. 1650, as his second wife, JONATHAN GILBERT, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Bennett) Gilbert, bp. at Yardley, Worcestershire, 8 June 1617 (Yardley PRs, on FHL Microfilm 1,520,013), d. at Hartford 19 Dec. 1682, aged 64 (gs). He was Marshall of the Colony of Connecticut for many years. (Source: Volume CXLVI: January 1992, Whole Number 581, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register.) They had eight children. Jonathan and Mary were the grandparents of Jonathan Belcher, Governor of Massachusetts and later of New Hampshire, and ancestors of Noah Webster, noted American author and lexicographer. Source shows a 1700 death date and names her children, one of whom is Thomas Gilbert. The name Gilbert suggests that she did not marry a Thomas Robinson.
"Mary Gilbert, #2173, four documents. Her will dated 23 May 1700, proved 11 July 1700 named sons Thomas, Samuel and Ebenezer, grandson Thomas Dickingson, son-in-law Charles Dickingson, daughters Lydia Chapman and Rachell Marshielde, and children of daughter Sarah Belcher, deceased. Her inventory was taken 5 July 1700. The distribution on 17 July 1705 gave 1/5 to Capt. Thomas Gilbert of Boston and 1/5 to the children of Andrew and Sarah Belcher. Nothing is mentioned about the others."
