"iii. THOMAS BIGGS, b. ca. 1672 *aged 9 in Aug, 1681), was "of Wethersfield" in Dec. 1693, when he quitclaimed to Joseph Butler "all his interest in his father William Biggs lands in Middletown on the east and west sides of the Great River."[90] He drew an allotment of the common lands as a resident taxpayer in Wethersfield on 23 Feb. 1693/4,[91] and he apparently was residing there sometime between 1704 and 1710, when his name appears on a list of residents.[92]
His wife and children are not identified,[93] but Thomas had a grandson who lived sometime in Middletown. On 25 Sept. 1749, William Biggs "late of Midletown . . . now resident in Harwinton," Conn., bought 16 acres from Joseph Curtice in the "East part" of Harwinton and gave a mortgage deed back to Curtice next day.[94] In Feb. 1749/50, William Biggs "of Harwinton" sold his interest in Wethersfield common lands that "did of right fall to my Hon[ore]d Grandfather Thomas Biggs formerly of Wethersfield dec'd as he was a proprietor in said Wethersfield."[95]
Child, surname Biggs: Son4 who became the father of William5 of Middletown and Harwinton, Conn.".
