JACOB ROOTE, son of Thomas (350), grandson of of John of Badby (T), b. in Hartford, Ct.. He was probably the youngest son of Thomas, Sr. He is mentioned in the list of Northampton freemen, Feb. 8, 1678. He m. Feb. 2, 1680, Mary, dau. of Sampson and Mary (Daniel) Frary of Deerfield, Mass. She was b. July 24, 1662. He was among the first settlers of Hebron, Ct., where he removed in 1705, and was one of those chosen to run the bounds between Colchester and Hebron in 1710, as latter was not incorporated when he moved there. He had a farm which remained in the possession of the family for 125 years. He died Aug. 9, 1731, ae. a. 70. She d. Feb. 8, 1744.
