"(II) Deacon Gershom Palmer located permanently on Pendleton Hill, Stonington, now North Stonington, Connecticut, established the present Palmer homestead,and there died in 1719. He served with Connecticut troops in Colonial wars, and was prominent in the church. His first wife was Ann (Denison) Palmer, daughter of Captain George and Ann (Borodell) Denison, who died in 1693, leaving among other children a son George, head of the third generation, all of whom were born on the Palmer homestead on Pendleton Hill.".

"(III) George, son of Deacon Gershom Palmer, was baptized in Stonington, May 29, 1680. In a deed dated October 8, 1729, it is set forth that George Palmer in his will made his wife, Hannah, his executrix, with his sons, Christopher and Joseph. As his widow was married in the next year, we know that he died in 1729. January 25, 1738-39, Hannah, former wife of George Palmer, now wife of William York, gave a quit-claim deed of her right to one-third of the estate. George Palmer married, March 11, 1711, in Stonington, Hannah, daughter of Joseph and Frances (Prentice) Palmer, born May 31, 1694. She married (second) February 2, 1730, William York. Children: Christopher, born February 13, 1712; Zebulon, February 4, 1714; Joseph, August 16, 1716-17; George, junior, September 16, 1719; Gershom, October 12, 1725, mentioned below. Children of Hannah (Palmer) York: Amos York, born October 13, 1730; Molly York, April 30, 1732; Jonathan, August 29, 1735.".
