He married first, at Plymouth, 5 Apr. 1716, MARGARET COOKE, born at Plymouth 3 Nov. 1695, died at Middleborough before 20 Dec. 1742, daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Miller) Cooke, granddaughter of Jacob and Damaris (Hopkins) Cooke, and great-granddaughter of Francis Cooke, a passenger in the Mayflower; and secondly, 20 Dec. 1754, JOANNA (TILSON) WOOD, born at Plymouth 9 Oct. 1696, died at Middleborough in 1747, daughter of Edmund and Elizabeth (Waterman) Tilson and widow of David Wood.

He was named in his brother Jacob's will of 4 June 1751, and was a soldier in Captain Endicott's company, Col. Fry's regiment, 10 Aug. 1757, as appears from a billeting roll on their return from Lake George.".
