Born Nov. 4, 1722, in that part of Lancaster which ten years later became a part of Harvard. He died in 1802, aged 80 years. His will, dated in 1801, was filed in Worcester in 1802. He stated therein that he married Mary Willard (his third wife), late in life, and, in another clause, that he married her in his 79th year. He mentioned his living children, and his grandson Joseph.

He married I, Nov. 11, 1742, Mary Willard, daughter of Hezekiah and Anna (Wilder) Willard, born in Harvard; baptized Dec. 22, 1722. She died Aug. 26, 1748, aged 25 years. 10 mos. 17 ds. She was a descendant of Major Simon Willard. See p. 52.
He married II, Abigail Tarbell, of Groton, Mass., Oct. 4, 1749. She died Apr. 12, 1798, aged 76 yrs. ) mos. 6 ds.
He married III, Mrs. Mary Willard, Feb. 19, 1801.
