"1. JOHN 1OWEN, of Windsor,† born, probably in Wales, about 1622, died 18 Feb. 1698, the inscription on his gravestone in the old cemetery by the Congregational Church in Windsor reading: "John Owen aged 76 years dyed February ye 18th: 1698" The town records of Windsor, however, state that he was born 25 Dec. 1624, "so that in December 25, 1664 he was 40 years old," and they give his death as occurring 1 Feb. 1698/9, ae 76. He married at Windsor, 3 Oct. 1650, REBECCA WADE, who died 3 Dec. 1711.
