"5. PELEG3 SLOCUM (Giles,2 Anthony1) was born in Portsmouth, R. I., 17th 6 mo., 1654; m. Mary Holder, daughter of Christopher Holder, a prominent Quaker. They settled in Dortmouth, N. P., where he bacame an active worker in the Society of Friends, being named in their records as a minister. He donated six acres of land as a site for their first meeting-house and burying-ground in that township. He died in Dartmouth in 1732-3; she, at the house of their son-in-law, Peter Easton, in Newport, 20th 7 mo., 1787, aged 75 years, 4 mos, and 14 days. Children:
