"(VII) Howe, son of Minot and Sarah (Farley) Wheeler, was born and reared in Royalton, Vermont, at a period when the country was new and the sorrowful experiences of the Revolutionary days were still fresh in the minds of the people. This town was burned and several of its citizens massacred by Indians during the Revolution, and the wife of Howe Wheeler belonged to one of the families the suffered most severely during that inhuman disaster. She was Amy Parkhurst, of Royalton, and a woman of strongly defined character who preserved the New England traditions in their strongest form. Mr. Wheeler spent his declining years in Worcester, Vermont, where he died in the winter of 1869-70.".

"In 1743, Josiah Robinson, from Uxbridge, settled on the west end of lot 22, and built a house which is a part of the "Jenk's tavern" so called. He was married to Anna Barton in 1738. His children were Samuel, born July 24, 1742; William, June 16, 1744; Joshua, June 2, 1747. In 1752, he removed from the town. His son William, father of the wife of Jacob Wilson, died in Charleton a few years later.".2Vital Records of Spencer, Massachusetts to the End of the Year 1849, p. 95 (1909).

So it appears that Josiah Robinson m. 1738, Anna Barton and had the following children:

2. Samuel, b. July 24, 1742, prob. Uxbridge (although not listed there).

4. Joshua, bap. June 2, 1747, Spencer.
5. Jeremiah, bap. Aug. 6, 1749, Spencer.
6. Sarah, bap. Nov. 10, 1751, Spencer.
7. Anna, bap. June 3, 1754, Spencer (named for her mother).
Probably Josiah Sr. didn't leave Spencer before 1754.
