"4. JOHN2 GODFREY, (Richard1) was born at Taunton say 1654. He died between 7 August 1735 (will) and 23 October (probate), probably at Yarmouth, Massachusetts.[109] He married MARTHA JOYCE, born about 1667, daughter of Hosea2 (John1) and Martha (____) Joyce.[110] In his will dated 24 January 1711/2, Hosea Joyce of Yarmouth, Massachusetts mentioned daughter "Martha Godfree."[111]

iv. DORCAS GODFREY, b. say 1695; d. after 7 Aug. 1735 (date of father's will); m. (1) Yarmouth 29 March 1715 ISRAEL HAMBLEN,[125] b. Barnstable 15 March 1694, son of Israel and Abigail (Lombard?) Hamblen/Hamlin;[126] m. (2) as "Dorcas Hambling" in 1716 or 1717, probably at Yarmouth , JONATHAN WHITE,[127] d. Dutchess Co., N.Y., 1759, son of Jonathan and Hester (Nickerson) White.[128]
v. URIAH GODFREY, b. say 1697; m. Yarmouth 24 Feb. 1736/7 Melatiah Smith,[129] b. ca. Feb. 1716 (based on age at death), d. Yarmouth 14 Dec. 1805, age 89 years, 10 months, [130] daughter of Elisha and Melatiah (Gray) Smith.[13]
vi. ELIZABETH GODFREY, b. say 1699; d. after 7 Aug. 1735 (date of father's will).
vii. PRISCILLA GODFREY, b. say 1701. She was probably the Priscilla Godfrey who had marriage intentions at Yarmouth dated 17 Nov. 1734 with CALEB CHASE;[132] however, her father's will dated 7 Aug. 1735 calls her unmarried. Caleb Chase, b. Yarmouth 25 Sept. 1713, son of Jonathan and Sarah (Green) Chase. apparently was the Caleb Chase who m. Yarmouth 8 Sept. 1736 Mary Wixson.[133]
viii. THANKFUL GODFREY, b. say 1703; d. before 7 Aug. 1735 (date of father's will); m. Yarmouth 16 Feb. 1720/1 THOMAS HAKES or HAUX.[134]
