"(V) Matthew Laflin, of Southwick, born June 13, 1735, in Ulster, Ireland, died at Southwick, March 15, 1810. He is described as an "Irish Protestant." He was lieutenant in the militia and selectman from 1776 to 1786. He engaged in the manufacture of gunpowder, He married, at Westfield, Massachusetts, November 5, 1761, Lucy daughter of Benjamin Loomis. Issue: 1. Lucy, born 1763, married David Campbell. 2. Matthew, of whom below. 3. Charles, born 1767. 4. Herman, married Clarissa Rising.
