The history of Sherborn and various other authorities have confused him with Nathaniel Johnson, son of his uncle, Isaac Johnson of Roxbury. Both branches lived in this section and in Connecticut in the same vicinity. He married Abigail ------. "(II) James Sweet, son of John Sweet, was born in England, in 1622, and died in Kingstown, Rhode Ialand, in 1695. He lived at Warwick and Kingstown. He was admitted an inhabitant of North Kingstown, June 5, 1648; was commissioner, 1653-55-58-59. He was admitted a freeman in 1655, and was a juror in 1656. He deeded various parcels of land to his sons. To Benoni he gave land in Mashantatuck in 1686. He married Mary Greene, born 1633, daughter of John and Joan (Tattersall) Greenw, Children, born at Norrth Kingstown: Philip, July 15, 1655; James, May 28, 1657; Mary, February 2, 1660; Benoni, of whom further; Valentine, February 14, 1665; Samuel, November 1, 1667; Jeremiah, Januaty 6, 1669; Renewed, July 16, 1671; Sylvester, March 1, 1674.
