Enlisted 1 Sep 1870 to 1 Sep 1875 in Third Artillery. Reenlisted 1 Oct 1875 at Fort Hamilton, NY, in the Seventh Cavalry. While his body was not specifically identified, he may have been one of the unknowns on either the South Skirmish Line or in Deep Ravine. Married Nancy Ellen Broadway 3 Dec 1868 in Golconda. Daughter Minnie J. (b. 14 Oct 1869). Divorced 6 Jun 1871. Listed number 61 in "June Returns, Alterations ... Killed in action.".".
