née RICE, Mary Blair
She was the first wife of explorer and naturalist William Beebe,
althought this is little known.
While married to Beebe, she co-wrote a number of works with him as Mary Blair Beebe.
Immediately after they were divorced (1913) she married Robert Niles,
changed her name to Blair Niles,
and went on to considerable fame in her own right writing under that name.
