chg • LOOMIS, Noel M(iller) [1905-1969] – American writer LOOM646 9C3
A quite prolific and popular writer in the 50's and 60's of western novels with the occasional mystery thrown in. Born and lived in the American West, he knew what he was writing about, and also wrote a history of the Wells Fargo company. His fictional works are often relegated to the pulp classification.

One of his books was adapted to the screen: Johnny Concho starring Frank Sinatra and other big names, by accounts a very interesting and unusual production. (United Artists, 1956) The film has not to date (2014) been released in any of the portable formats such as VHS or DVD, which adds to it mystery. wiki: Wiki
