CHURCHILL, Lady Randolph
A noted beauty, she was said to have Iroquois ancestry,
but considerable genealogical scholarship has failed to support this legend.
She was quite a character, with a snake tattooed around one wrist.
In 1874, she married Lord Randolph Churchill,
and two more times after his death -- and numerous lovers.
Legend has it that she was responsible for the invention of the "Manhattan" cocktail.
