536. David Hill was born on 4 Feb 1825 in Delaware County, Ohio. ⁽¹⁴²¹⁾ He appeared on the census on 10 Sep 1850 in Concord Township, Delaware County, Ohio. He appeared on the census in 1860 in Fulton County, Indiana. He appeared on the census in 1870 in Cedar County, Missouri. He appeared on the census on 17 Jun 1880 in Delaware Township, Otoe County, Nebraska. He died on 5 Aug 1898 in Syracuse, Otoe County, Nebraska. ⁽¹⁴²²⁾ He was buried on 7 Aug 1898 in Park Hill Cemetery, Otoe County, Nebraska.⁽¹⁴²³⁾

Commentary: Descendants believe that this David Hill who married Amanda Evans is the son of George and Caroline Hill. I have tentative included him in this fashion as it seems feasible. It is confirmed from the estate records of George Hill that he had a son named David who was not a resident of Indiana. The one unresolved issue is that there was another David Hill owning land in an adjacent section to George Hill in Roots Township, Adams County, Indiana. When this David Hill sold his land in 1851, his wife was identified as Elizabeth. The land had been purchased in 1840. David with wife Amanda was not old enough to have purchased that land in 1840. The land owner David did not appear in Root Township in the 1850 census. In normal circumstances, one individual, such as David Hill, owning land near another individual of the same surname, such as George Hill, would normally be related as father and son or as brothers. George Hill did have a brother named David but his brother is accounted for in Ohio with a wife named Susannah. Until the landowner David Hill of Adams County, Indiana, with a wife named Elizabeth, is located and identified, there is a possibility that he is the son of George Hill.

He was married to Amanda Mary Evans (daughter of --- Evans and Amanda ---) on 15 Apr 1847 in Delaware County, Ohio.⁽¹⁴²⁴⁾ They were married by Joel Marsh, Justice of the Peace, and David's uncle. Amanda Mary Evans was born on 13 Sep 1831 in Ohio. ⁽¹⁴²⁵⁾ She appeared on the census on 10 Sep 1850 in home of spouse. She appeared on the census in 1860 in home of spouse. She appeared on the census in 1870 in home of spouse. She appeared on the census on 17 Jun 1880 in home of spouse. She appeared on the census on 11 Jun 1900 in home of son. She was living with William Henry Hill. She died on 14 Oct 1909 in Greenwood County, Kansas.⁽¹⁴²⁶⁾ She died near Fall River. David Hill and Amanda Mary Evans had the following children:
