539. Joshua Hill was born on 18 Feb 1835 in Delaware County, Ohio. ⁽¹⁴⁴⁶⁾ He appeared on the census in 1850 in Wayne Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana. He was living in the household of Ephraim McClary. He Bought land in Wisconsin in 1864. He appeared on the census in 1880 in Hartland Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin. He died on 21 Mar 1908 in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon.⁽¹⁴⁴⁷⁾ He died of apoplexy, according to A. K. Turner, M.D. who signed the death certificate. A. V. Hill, his son, was the informant on the death certicate. He was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.

He was married to Emeline Klinck (daughter of John George Klinck and Susannah Allen) on 3 Jul 1856 in Whitley County, Indiana. Emeline Klinck was born on 2 Apr 1839 in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana. She appeared on the census in 1880 in home of spouse. She died on 11 Jan 1911 in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon. She was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. Joshua Hill and Emeline Klinck had the following children:

1304 iv. Adam Valentine Hill was born on 13 Aug 1865 in Esdaile, Pierce County, Wisconsin. He appeared on the census in 1880 in home of parent. He died on 25 Aug 1940 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. He was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. He never married.
