He died on 31 Dec 1953 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.⁽¹⁵⁶⁰⁾ Obit: Arthur Sheley, 83, of Springfield [Ohio], former resident of Jamestown, died Thursday at 12:45 p. m. in Springfield City Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Sheley is survived by two daughers, Mrs. Louise Johnson, of Springfield, and Mrs. Thelma Kelso of North Hampton; one son, Allen Sheley of Springfield; one sister, Miss Jessie Sheley, a patient in the Shirk Nursing Home, Jamestown, and one brother, Homer Sheley, of New Port Richy, Fla.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. e. at Littleton Funeral Homes in Springfield. Burial will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery, near Springfield. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 2 p.m.
He was buried in Lawrenceville Cemetery, Clark County, Ohio.

He was married to Emma Barnhart (daughter of John B. Barnhart and Jane ---) on 21 Nov 1900. Emma Barnhart was born about 1869 in Jamestown, Silver Creek Township, Greene County, Ohio. ⁽¹⁵⁶¹⁾ She appeared on the census in 1880 in home of parent. Arthur Seaton Sheley and Emma Barnhart had the following children:
