Sheley, 65, Jamestown [Ohio] area native, died five minutes before noon Sunday, about 24 hours after he suffered a stroke while driving a tractor.
Officials at Springfield Mercy Medical Center, where Mr. Sheley died, said he had lain in a field near his home, 541 Warfield Rd., Springfield, until shortly before he was admitted to the hospital about 10:30 Saturday night.
Born Nov. 3, 1906, to Arthur and Emma Barnhart Sheley, Mr. Sheley had been a 38-year employe of the now defunct Buckeye Incubator Co., Springfield, and then worked for the Udylite Corp. of that city until semi-retirement in 1970. Since then he had worked at the Madison Aviation Center, London.
