"NEW CONCORD--Joseph P. Geyer, 95, of 430-A N. Fifth St., Cambridge, died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995, at Guernsey Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.
Born Nov. 15, 1899, in Highland Twp., Muskingum County, he retired from Cambridge Machine and Supply. He previously worked 10 years in the maintenance department at Muskingum College and worked 21 years at Timken Roller Bearing of Canton. He was a member of First Nazarene Church in Cambridge.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Knowlden of Zanesville; a son Paul B. Geyer of Urichsville; a brother James Geyer of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anson and Jeanette White Geyer; three wives, Helen, Merle and Manolia; three sisters, Gertrude Kenworthy, Minnie Geyer and Grace Geyer; a brother, Herbert Geyer. (New Concord Cem. [hand written])"

He was married to Helen Kidd on 23 Jul 1925. (3342) She was a resident of Canton, Ohio, when she married Joseph. Joseph Paul Geyer and Helen Kidd had the following children:

He was married to Merle Marlatt (daughter of Baxter Marlatt and Margaret ---) before 1971. Merle Marlatt was born on 19 Jun 1898 in Indian Camp, Guernsey County, Ohio. (3343)(795) She died on 22 Dec 1971 in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio. (3344)(795) Her obituary reads as follows:
"CAMBRIDGE--Mrs. Merle M. Geyer, 73, of 323 Long street died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday [22 Dec 1971] in Guernsey Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1898, in Indian Camp, the daughter of Baxter and Margaret Marlatt.
Mrs. Geyer was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph P. Geyer; three sons, Waldo Sarchet of Canton, Wilmer Sarchet of Columbus and Robert Sarchet of Cambridge; a step-son, Paul Geyer of Uhrichsville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Doris Nowlend of Route 5; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Two sisters are deceased.
Friends may call after noon today [23 Dec 1971] at Thorn Funeral Home here and until 1 p.m. Friday [ 24 Dec 1971] when the body will be taken to the Church of the Nazarene.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday [24 Dec 1971] at the church with Rev. Gale Goode officiating. Burial will be in New Concord Cemetery."
