He appeared on the census on 31 Jul 1860 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. He died on 9 Oct 1861. Another unconfirmed source indicates that he died 9 Mar 1861.

He was married to Julianna Sabin (daughter of David Sabin and Mary ---) before 1833. Julianna Sabin was born on 28 Nov 1813 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She died between Jun 1850 and Sep 1850 in Indiana. She did not appear in the 1850 census but a three month old child did appear. This fact coupled with the enumeration date of 11 Sep 1850 places her died between June and September 1850. Michael Geyer and Julianna Sabin had the following children:
